This 12-week piano lesson course is aimed at adults (over 16 years) who currently consider themselves to be complete beginners. The course has been designed to take beginners with absolutely no knowledge of playing piano, to a level of skill that will allow them to enjoy playing a range of Level 1 piano pieces. By the end of this course you will be able to: • understand written piano music in both Treble and Bass clef • know keyboard geography and easily recognise all of the notes on the piano • read and play a new piece from sheet music • understand fundamental music theory • perform a number pieces with both hands • be extremely proud of yourself for the incredible progress you have made What level is the course and do you need any particular skills? This course is for complete beginners (people who have never played before): no experience is needed. If you have some experience of playing piano, perhaps gained a long time ago, you will find this course very beneficial. You will need to follow written and verbal instructions in English and be willing to participate in class activities and discussions. Are there any other costs? Is there anything you need to bring? Students should have either a piano or a keyboard for practising at home which you are welcome to bring to lessons. However, keyboards are provided for each lesson for you convenience at no extra cost. All other learning materials, such as sheet music and tutorials, are supplied for you take home to practice with.
